Barberino Val d'Elsa is a small medieval town that dates back to the 1200s and is surrounded by its original medieval walls. Whoever arrives at this magic place may sometimes feel as part of a fairytale ...this is what happened to me the first time I saw this countryside and this house, just a short distance away from the adorable town.

The Touring Club has given Barberino Val d’Elsa the Orange flag, a recognition as one of the best Italian Medieval villages. It’s the most romantic and authentic village of the Valdelsa, a diamond in the heart of the Chianti Classico area. Surrounded by small villages, antique churches, medieval castles ,each of which tells a story, Barberino is not only an authentic town but it’s also very well organized for all the vacationers who can visit the nearby farms, wineries that offer wine tasting tours, and the typical local restaurants and trattorie.
